When to Start
The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends thatyour child's first dental visit occurs by their first birthday.

First Visit
Typically, the first dental visit consists of a thorough and complete oral examination, prophylaxis (cleaning and polishing of the teeth provided by one of our doctors), appropriate x-rays, fluoride application, oral hygiene instructions, a treatment plan and a parent consultation.

The parent consultation will consist of a discussion of our findings, recommendations, methods available to achieve these recommendations and an estimate of the professional fee.

The Treatment of Your Child
We shall treat your child as we would our very own. An important objective is to do dentistry thoroughly and carefully. Dentistry for children is not a game; it is a very important health service.

Parents are welcome to accompany their children into the dental operatory on the first visit. After the first visit and if your child is over the age of 3, we recommend that you allow them to be accompanied by our staff through the dental experience. Studies and experience shows that most children over the age of 3 react more positively when permitted to experience the dental visit on their own. Every effort will be made to make the visit psychologically pleasant and educational for out patients. We expect the parents of our patients to cooperate with these efforts for the good of their children.
