Thank you for visiting our new Internet site. As an up-to-date Pediatric Dental Practice, we want to give you the opportunity to stay in touch with our practice and the services we provide for your child.
Like pediatricians, pediatric dentists specialize in treating infants, very young children through adolescence. Because of additional training and limiting our practice to pediatrics, we are able to keep current on the latest diagnostic and treatment procedures for young people.
Dr. Scott W. Shore and Dr. Leo D. Morton are experienced at communication, behavior modification and other techniques used to establish trust and to help your child accept dental treatment. Just as the pediatrician monitors development from infancy, our dental team will evaluate your child's dental condition regularly to provide the highest level of prevention and treatment.
Our offices are specially designed for treating children from infancy through adolescence, including those handicapped or medically compromised. As your child grows, we are able to recognize the need for early treatment for problems that may arise. We are committed to providing the best possible care for your child in a friendly, caring and safe environment.
Normally, the first visit consist of a thorough and complete oral examination, prophylaxis (cleaning and polishing of the teeth provided by one of our doctors), appropriate x-rays, fluoride application, oral hygiene instructions, treatment plan and parent consultation.
The parent consultation will consist of a discussion of our findings, recommendations, methods available to achieve these recommendations and an estimate of the professional fee.
We shall treat your child as we would our very own. The important objective is to do dentistry thoroughly and carefully. Dentistry for children is not a game; it is a very important health service.
Parents are welcome to accompany their children into the Dental Operatory on the first visit. After the first visit and if your child is over the age of 3, we recommend that you allow them to accompany our staff through the dental experience. Studies and experience have shown that most children over the age of 3 react more positively when permitted to experience the dental visit on their own. Every possible effort will be made in our office to make the visit psychologically pleasant and educational. We expect the parents of our patients to cooperate with these efforts for the good of their children.
In brief, you should know the following about us: At Children's & Adolescent Dentistry, we are dedicated to the complete care of your child from infancy throughout young adulthood, including children with special health needs.
We provide comprehensive, customized pediatric dental services geared to each child's individual needs and temperament.
